Rauf Rostami

Head Chef, Co-CEO and Co-Owner

Born in the mountainous Northern region of Sar-e Pol Province of Afghanistan, Rauf learned his formidable cooking skills in his mother’s kitchen. The son of an advisor for the Afghan democratic government, Rauf spent much of his high school years living in Iran, where he expanded his culinary palette. He also spent a month with his family in Greece, experiencing tastes of the Mediterranean. In the United States, Rauf worked as a chef in various kitchens in the Boston area, learning the art of commercial cooking. His previous catering business, focusing on Afghan and Middle Eastern dishes, received rave reviews.

Orfan Hussain Zadah

Manager and Co-Owner

Orfan has enjoyed calling Brattleboro his home since coming to the United States from Afghanistan. Born in Kabul, Orfan grew up in both Pakistan and Afghanistan. Orfan was two semesters short of completing his medical studies to become a surgeon at the Asian Institute of Medical Sciences when he came to the United States.  In the Brattleboro area, Orfan has worked in the fields of refugee resettlement and retail.

Reza Jawidan

CFO, and Co-Owner

Reza was born into an agrarian family Daikundi Province, located in the highlands of central Afghanistan.  A published author, Reza is a graduate of Herat University, with a major in Dari literature. He was working on his master’s degree when he came to the United States.  Since arriving, Reza has taken several college level courses in English and the computer sciences.  He is also conversant in finance, working as a Bank Representative.

Scott Wilson

Food and Beverage Director

Trained at Johnson and Wales, Scott has worked in the hotel and restaurant business for over fifty years.  A native of the Boston area, Scott has spent most of his career in Eastern Massachusetts, working his way up through the ranks to the positions of Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director.  He has also been involved with starting new restaurants. Scott is known for creating complex and imaginative dishes made with simple ingredients and for his thoughtful presentation.  

Zaker Noori

Co-Owner

Zaker has proudly called Brattleboro his home since coming to the United States from Afghanistan.  Born in the central Afghan Province of Bamyam, Zaker was raised and educated in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.  After graduating from high school, Zaker worked as a mechanic for the United States army and has been a mechanic in Brattleboro since he came to this city.
